TikTok is the youngest social media platform and it is extremely popular. It is a video-sharing platform that is fun and entertaining and because of this, it is difficult to ignore. When users open up TikTok, the algorithm shows you popular content which gives users an unexpected feeling that is a direct result of rewarding stimuli or dopamine. This keeps users coming back for more. Videos that are unknown result in users getting hooked on scrolling on TikTok to view more videos and on top of that, videos on TikTok play on loop until you physically scroll to the next video yourself.
