Mydei is making his return in the upcoming version 3.7 banners for Honkai: Star Rail. He is a strong Imaginary, Destruction DPS character best known for sacrificing his HP for damage. However, he can be extremely chaotic, as he enters a special Vendetta state that makes him lose all control of the player. He can be a risky play for the team, but a powerful one if you know how to use and build him.

💪Mydei’s Strengths & Weaknesses

Mydei is a strong, but absolutely chaotic DPS character. In Honkai: Star Rail, all Destruction-type characters are known as wrathful and merciless. They attack at full power all the time and always go into battle loudly. Mydei’s kit fits this description well, as despite being a charged attacker, he hits incredibly hard on enemies. However, a Destruction character’s chaos can sometimes make them unpredictable to a fault. Mydei can enter a Vendetta state, which increases his overall power. As a Main DPS character, you’ll want to increase Mydei’s Critical Rate and damage output. This will inevitably make him stronger and also help him take greater advantage of his Vendetta state. This state deals some massive damage, so adding Critical Hits feels like the cherry on top of his stats. There are even some sets that can increase his maximum Health for more damage!

4-PC: When Mydei is hit or has his Health consumed by an ally, his Critical Rate increases by +8% for 2 turns and up to 2 stacks.

🧅The Best Ornaments for Mydei

Once again, Mydei’s Relics and Ornaments can be used to increase his Critical Rates, but there is another method you can try here. By having his Relics increase his Maximum Health, you can increase his Critical stats through Ornaments like the Bone Collection's Serene Demesne set. By synergizing these sets, Mydei can kill two birds with one stone stats-wise.

When Mydei is attacked or consumes his own Health, his damage increases by +24% to 28% to 32% to 36% to 40%. This effect is removed after Mydei uses an attack.
3	🥷Ninja Record - Sound Hunt🥷	Increases Mydei's Max Health by +12% to 15% to 18% to 21% to 24%. When losing Health or restoring Health, it increases his Critical damage by +18% to 22% to 27% to 31% to 36%, lasting for 2 turns. This effect can only trigger 1 time per turn.
4	🛤️A Trail of Bygone Blood🛤️	Increases Mydei's Critical Rate by +12%. The Skill damage and Ultimate damage dealt by Mydei increase by +24%.
5	✉️A Secret Vow✉️	Increases damage dealt by Mydei by +20% to 25% to 30% to 35% to 40%. He also deals an extra +20% to 25% to 30% to 35% to 40% of damage to enemies whose current Health percentage is equal to or higher than Mydei's current Health percentage.
6	♨️Flames Afar♨️	When Mydei's cumulative Health loss during one attack exceeds 25% of his Max Health, or if the amount of his own Health consumed at one time is greater than 25% of his Max Health, Mydei is immediatly healed for 15% of his Max Health, and at the same time, increases the damage he deals by +25% to 31.25% to 37.5% to 43.75% to 50% for 2 turns. This effect can only be triggered once every 3 turns.

⚡The Best Teams for Mydei

Mydei is a very strong DPS, but relies a lot on his maximum Health being high, including the number of heals he gets. This means that he can’t sit on his own, requiring lots of Supports to truly shine. That doesn’t make him weak, though, as he excels among Hypercarry team comps with the right Sustains.
