The goal is to plan expenses (not to have an accounting app), and do this in the way simpler and quicker as possible. You will have only features really you need, and all of these are easy to learn.
If your need is to have a raw valuation, you can omit to write down all small expenses, and use convenient "set starting amount" button, that will clear all past non-recurring occurrences and reset starting amount.
