iCanConduct provides a new way for kids to listen to music. When the child first chooses a song to listen to, they have a visual introduction to each of the instruments that will be used in the song. Once they press the play button, they will hear the song as a whole, with all of the instruments playing. By touching any of the images, the child can ÔÇ£conductÔÇØ the instruments, turning them off and on as the song plays. Some children are drawn to one instrument that they want to hear alone. Others are curious how a song might sound, for example, without guitar. Some children want to sing along, so they turn off the voice. We have even seen a child turn off the drums, and take part in the song as a member of the band playing her own bongos. The number of ways that a child can play with the app is only limited to their imagination and desire to get involved in the song. We believe that this app will not only entertain the child, but will also help them to begin to identify the sound that each instrument makes, and the importance of each sound in the making of a song.
